HAI DUONG PETROLEUM AND MARINE CORPORATION
On June 20th, 2023, at the ITC Maratha Hotel in Mumbai (India), Vietnam-based Hai Duong Petroleum and Marine Corporation (HADUCO) and Indian’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) held a contract signing ceremony for the provision of 07 multi-functional support vessels for ONGC’s exploration and production activities offshore on the East and West coasts of India.
The ceremony was noticeably attended by high-level representatives of Vietnam diplomatic missions in India, Dr. Do Thanh Hai, Minister Counselor and Deputy Chief of Mission of The Vietnamese Embassy in India, Mr. Hoang Tung, Consul General in Mumbai; senior leaders from ONGC, Mr. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Executive Director Chief Offshore Logistics of ONGC; from HADUCO, Mr. Pham Xuan Thang, Chairman of HADUCO Board Management, and Mr. Tran Quang Hung, President & CEO of HADUCO.
According to the signed contract, HADUCO will provide 07 versatile offshore oil and gas service vessels to support ONGC’s oil and gas exploration and extraction activities in the offshore areas of Eastern and Western India for a period of 03 years. HADUCO is headquartered in Vung Tau City, has previously supplied ONGC with 01 service vessel for oil and gas-related operations.
Sharing about the collaboration this time, Mr. Ajay Kumar Sharma stated, “I evaluate HADUCO as a truly reputable enterprise based on the quality of services that you have provided to us recently. Hopefully, it will not only be seven vessels but also the contracts for provisions of HADUCO fleets or even more which is strategic target, both ONGC and HADUCO are aiming for the sustainable cooperation and long-term development.”
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Do Thanh Hai, Minister Counselor of The Vietnamese Embassy in India opined: “HADUCO signing a contract directly with ONGC India not only demonstrates the development of Vietnamese enterprises but also opens up new opportunities for cooperation between two countries, between businesses in Vietnam and India. Thereby, this is a milestone which bears significant meaning, not only strengthening cooperation and trade relations between Vietnam and India for mutual benefits but also contributing to the development and stability of the Indo-Pacific region”.
On HADUCO’s side, Chairman of HADUCO Board Management, Mr. Pham Xuan Thang, once again expressed the company’s commitment to continue providing high-quality, safe and effective services for ONGC’s exploration and production activities in India. He further showed firm belief that the good cooperation between HADUCO and ONGC will be more consolidated and strengthened in the coming time./.
